At least seven Palestinian journalists were killed, several injured and others are missing by Israeli attack in Gaza Strip according to Palestine government official report.
A Palestinian journalist and her family were the latest victims in the ongoing barbaric and indiscriminate Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip reported Wafa correspondent. He said that the journalist Salam Meimah, her husband and three children, Hady, Ali and Sham were killed on Tuesday when Israeli warplanes bombed their house in Jabalya refugee camp north of the besieged Gaza Strip.
Earlier three other journalists were killed on Tuesday morning by an Israeli airstrike that hit a residential building near Gaza City’s fishing port. The Hamas-run government said that the three reporters were covering the evacuation of a residential building nearby, when the missile struck, AFP reported. WAFA correspondent said that the occupation warplanes bombed the Hajji Tower on Institutions Street in the Gaza Governorate, adding that it was completely destroyed.
Journalist Saeed Radwan al-Taweel, a resident of the Rafah Governorate in the south, who works as editor-in-chief of Al-Khamsa News and journalist Mohammad Rizq Sobh, a resident of Gaza and a photographer for Khabar Agency, were killed. Journalist Hisham Al-Nawajha, a resident of Rafah Governorate, suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the intensive care room at Al-Shifa Medical Complex where he was later pronounced dead reported by Wafa news agency.
WAFA correspondent claimed, the occupation forces have deliberately targeted journalists, which led to the killing of a number of them, in order to obscure the truth of their crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
Earlier on Saturday 8 October, two Palestinian journalists were killed and one disappears while covering news in Gaza. Journalist Mohammad Al Salehi was killed by an Israeli army bullet while covering the news at the border east of al-Bureij, Wafa news. Another journalist Nidal Al-Wahidi was also killed by Israeli bombing attack near the Erez crossing confirmed by Middle East Observer report.
On the same day, two Palestinian journalists, Nidal Al-Wahidi and Haitham Abdel Wahid disappeared while covering news in Gaza. In a statement the Palestinian journalists syndicate expressed deep concern over the sudden disappearance of two Journalists Al-Wahidi and Abdel Wahid during their coverage of the developments near the Beit Hanoun military checkpoint in the northern Gaza Strip. Contact with the two journalists has been lost, leading to grave concerns for their safety and well-being.
On Friday in the early hours, Hamas launched an unprecedented attack in southern Israel. In response, Israel retaliated with airstrikes over the besieged Gaza Strip and formally declared war at Hamas.
