Journalist assaulted during Israel-Gaza war live coverage

A journalist was assaulted during Israel and Gaza war live news coverage on Sunday. An Israeli police officer was interrupting during live and threatened the journalist, said Ahmed Darawsha, AlAraby TV correspondent.

The journalist was threatened and screamed when he was covering live on the ground in Ashdod, Israel, the Independent news report. Darawsha said to AlAraby TV that an Israeli police officer was threatened him.  

“What are you saying? I don’t care if you are in live, what are you saying,” Interrupting in the live the man said to journalist Ahmed Darawsha. The journalist replied him, “I am saying what the Israeli army is doing.”

Interrupting again Mr Darawsha, the officer shouts: “You better are saying good things. Understood?”

“And all of these Hamas should be slaughtered. Am I clear? If you don’t report the truth, woe is you.”

After the officer walks off-screen, the reporter says: “The Israeli police are monitoring what we are saying.”

The officer returned again and stand directly in front of the camera, looks down the lens and says: “Detestable! We’ll turn Gaza to dust! Dust, dust, dust.”

At least 12 journalists killed between Israel and Gaza on going war. A Reuters journalist was killed on last Friday. On the same day, BBC journalists Muhannad Tutunji and Haitham Abudiab were assaulted and held at gunpoint after being stopped by Israeli police in Tel Aviv, BBC report.
