Foreign correspondent of Bangladesh several media was politically attacked by a group of Bangladesh ruling party Awami League’s politicians in Lisbon, Portugal on Wednesday, June 19.

Victim journalist also filed a case against the three accused in this incident on Friday 21 June. A faction of the Awami League has long held grudges against the ‘Portugal Bangla Press Club’, an organization of Bangladeshi journalists in Portugal, Rony alleged. He also claimed that the attack happened because of this anger.

Rony was threatened by a group of Portugal Awami League from the past three months. On the night of June 19 around 10, a group of Awami League’s political leader of Portugal attacked on him. After this incident he filed a case seeking security and justice in his life, Rony said.

Journalist Rony works as a foreign correspondent in Bangladesh Pratidin and Dhaka Times. He is also a founder president of Portugal Bangla Press Club.
