Bangladeshi media outlets Daily Janakantha and Nagarik TV recently claimed that Indian media ignored news about Qatar’s Emir sending an air ambulance to transport Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia, to the United Kingdom for medical treatment. However, this claim does not withstand scrutiny.

Prominent Indian news platforms covered the story. The Times of India, one of the India’s leading media, reported on the event, explicitly mentioning the role of Qatar’s Emir in arranging the air ambulance. Similarly, NDTV, a major Indian media network owned by the Adani Group, also published detailed reports on the matter, including the Emir’s involvement in Khaleda Zia’s transfer for medical care.

Furthermore, Bangladeshi media Daily Janakantha made an additional factual error by incorrectly attributing the initiative to the Emir of Kuwait instead of the Emir of Qatar. This misrepresentation further undermines the credibility of their reporting.

This evidence not only debunks the allegations of Indian media’s negligence but also highlights the importance of verifying information to ensure accurate and responsible journalism, especially in cross-border narratives.
